Last night I got a message about a package I forgot I sent out on Monday. It made me tear up, but good tears. ?????ÿ
This is the teenager kiddo that I have been making painted rocks and collecting presents for, over the past 3+ months.
He has cancer. Leukemia AML+FLT. This kid has been through hell and back!
He just got his bone marrow transplant last month. Hence his cute bald head.
I was in a painted rock group that had "nasty people" in it that did not " have the time" to make this kiddo a rock, or help get him some Legos. SO, I asked his mom what can I do to make/get something to cheer him up? She said that he'd like a painted kitty cat rock. OK, that I can do! So can Wendells mom! Yay!!! ????ÿ
The "owner" of that "other" group said "Oh she's just saying that for sympathy and to get free rocks and toys."?ÿ I called BS. I know some people lie and manipulate to get what they want, but this clearly was not the case.
Anyhow, I told the mom of kiddo that my mother-in-law and I would work on some kitty cat rocks, and we'll get something to him soon.
After that, I left that OTHER group, started my own rock group, started making my own groups rocks, and never looked back.
Being that he had a younger sister, I did not want to leave her out. She's been through hell and back as well,?ÿ having to watch her big brother and her parents go through all of this.
Anyhow...It took me about 3 months to finally get it all together, rocks, legos, and such, but I finally did and mailed it out on Monday. Then I spaced it and forgot that I had mailed it all out. ?????ÿ
As you can see by the smiles on their faces... It was worth every hour and minute it took me to make those rocks and get those toys. ???????
As soon as kiddo is better, I will go and visit them and take Mom to coffee. I think she needs it as much as I do. ????
