Mom: Can I go for a walk?
Tech: Yes, the Doctor said you can walk around.
Mom: Can I go outside?
Tech: No, you have to stay inside.
Mom: OK, don't look out the window!
Then she tried to get the Internist to let her have a glass of wine but he said not yet. He said communion would be fine.

I'm going to guess that your mom didn't pick up her sense of humor just from hanging around with her sons. :>
