While I wait for my accountant to call back... (haha. on a friday night!) I Might have accidentally lumped a bunch of credit card payments into one big Deposit. Which makes it tough to reconcile my bank statement as it just shows up as one number instead of the discreet deposits for each project.

I'm thinking I can just go back and DELETE the deposit then re do the "record deposit" for each individual item. My worry is that it will delete the payment info from the data as well and I really don't want to go back and re enter all that stuff.

Andy QB gurus out and about at 5 PM on a Friday night?? Thanks. Andy

Well since no one answered. Yes, you can delete the deposit without affecting the payment data. Maybe it's such a silly question no one took me seriously.

Andy, I didn't read or see your post until a few moments ago. But glad to see you resolved your issue. I could have answered that question for you, having made similar adjustments in the past.

But still touching on the matter, do you currently use the QB service paid in increments or do you purchase a license/product key? The key point being, is your QB directly sync'd to your bank account or do you manually reconcile from statements each month?

I manually reconcile but it's a total pain!

Is there a way to automate this?! Because I'm all about that.
The tough part is the way my bank jumbles the credit card payments into odd groups and I have to play around inQB selecting the project invoices that fit together to match up.
I'm sure I'm doing this the hard way.

Here's this morning's question. I use Square for my clients that pay by credit card.
The total for last month (on the Square website data) matches the total shown on my statement. But in my individual deposits in QB for the month, it's quite a bit less, and there are no open invoices for that time.
I'm at a loss.

When u receive the payment.... don't put it into undeposited funds. Click the pull down and click your bank account.

That way it won't go into the 'record deposit' list and you won't have to trick quick books with single payment 'deposits'

If your receive payment screen won't let you change the deposit destination (stuck on undeposited funds) then go into the options and unclick 'default to undeposited funds'
