I'm getting some new business cards printed and was wondering if anyone uses a mylar type product for their cards?? It seems like it would last much longer than regular paper. If you have a product that you use, please post a link or name so I can find it. thanks.

Don't use cards, I do use pens with name and phone number. Seldom have anyone call me who does not know me or knows someone who does.

okay, thanks Jud. Appreciate your help! 😉 I haven't had cards for a while, but it seems people are constantly asking for one...
Have it coated. Most printers can coat front and or back with an aqueous coted that make them pretty durable.
I am on my third box of 500 cards thru a period 20± years and continue to use parchment paperstock.
I remember a businessman that used a plastic type of card material. That stuff was very thin and untearable and waterproof.
Seems like paper would be better than mylar if someone wanted to jot a note on the back of your card.
Writing on a business card is considered disrespectful in some cultures but doesn't seem to be a problem in the U.S.
A couple foresters here use wood business cards. They say people hang on to them more as a novelty item. If found them at cardsofwood.com
Andy, in this techno-freak world we live in, I've adapted and do the following.
While yes, I do still carry paper business cards, I also have a contact set up in my iphone. If the individual has a smart phone with the app bump, then I simply bump phones and he has then website, phone numbers, mailing addresses, etc. About 3 months ago, I was at a dog and pony show meeting where everyone had the cards. As they were swapping, I noticed all had the app on their phone as well after asking. Then we all bumped phones and never worried about the business cards.
Pretty slick huh? 🙂
great tip, Kris, and I do have the Bump app. that thing is awesome! but I'm getting cards too..
Agreed. Some people just don't have or want to have the technology. My bigger clients are all over it though.
