Apparently we are all too polite to speak up
Have been in an online continuing education program since 8:00 this morning. This is a Geotechnical Conference. A nice variety of speakers and topics. Have had the sound level on 42 all day. The final speaker is on now. Gave up and turned the sound level to 100. When he is speaking directly towards the microphone I can catch about 70 percent of what he is saying. The big problem is that he keeps stepping away from the podium to point at the big screen showing his photos. Nothing can be heard but a small echo. Everyone in the auditorium is hearing at the same level I am. The view of the audience leaves the impression they are in church because there is no one in the first half dozen rows of seating.
His topic is: Utilizing Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in Geotechnical Site Characterization.,
No one has the guts to catch the eye of either the speaker or the moderator to request the doofus actually speak into the microphone.
