Greetings from the Hoosier State
Good morning all.
Like many of you, COVID-19 has affected my routine such that I have a little more “free” time to introduce myself.
Fortunately, I work from home as a satellite Project Manager, overseeing crews in the Northeast, Midwest and Pacific Northwest. Originally licensed by Indiana as a Professional Surveyor in 2010, I have acquired nine other PS licenses (KY, ND, WV, WI, SD, OR, WA, VT, and CO,) since then.
I enjoy studying and learning about the nuances of each state’s legal focus areas, and some of the history behind their thinking. I have MA, NH, CT, and NC on my current “to do” list of application and testing processes, so my mind is definitely getting fed. But current with Covid-19 “shelter in place” orders, and other travel restrictions causing most tests to be postponed, it’s hard to say when my current list will be depleted.
I’m a 2004 graduate of Vincennes University, in Vincennes, Indiana, holding an Associates degree in Surveying Technology, as well as an Associates in English. (Former career path as a teacher. Long story.)
To date, I have managed survey projects of varying sizes in 40 states. Something I didn’t realize until recently, when I took a moment to sit back and think on it.
I think surveying is a fascinating field, and enjoy reading stories from the trenches, here on the forums, when I have time. I feel for the most part surveyors are always striving to serve their clients the best they possibly can, working smarter, not harder, and trying to achieve goals.
