Trimble SX10 height measurement
Does anyone know the “official” reduction used for reducing an HI measurement made to the lower notch to a true vertical measurement for the Trimble SX10? The S6 manual has the reduction for that instrument, but I cannot find anything in the SX10 manual.
I have done some measurements of the dimensions of the instrument, and I came up with the following values (HIn=HI measurement to the notch)…
radius=0.14 m
vertical offset=0.138 m
So, TV=Sqrt(HIn^2-0.14^2)+0.138
the given formula for the S6 is
TV=Sqrt(HIn^2-0.091^2)+0.158
The spec sheet says it has a trunnion axis height of 196 mm, which is the same as the S6 (and the Wild T2, and Zeiss S10, and other instruments).
