Missouri Surveyors – Are You Missing Any Monuments?
Both sellers are from Missouri. I have not tried to trace the origin of the monuments.

We don’t need no stinkin elevation mark… we got GPS! 🙂
(Not Funny!)
Such a shame those are destroyed. Perhaps the State Survey Department should buy them, then spend our tax dollars to have them re-set.
It would be interesting to know how this one got on ebay, too.
Unset, stamped City of San Antonio FL, LS 2763

I looked up the license number and left a voicemail alerting them to it.
I don’t find a listing for TT 230 B in the NGS data base. Probably only USGS and not much of a loss, just a bad precedent.
CANNON RM2 in Missouri is HD0958, but it says the stamped date is 1948 instead of the 1947 I see on ebay. So need to look to other states.
Perhaps Missisippi, where one does have the 1947 date
http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/ds_mark.prl?PidBox=BW0951
or any of 8 or 10 other states that have a CANNON whose RM doesn’t have its own PID, although in a quick scan I didn’t notice any with activity in 1947..
I don’t find a listing for TT 40 RNS either. Again probably only info on it is in the USGS paper files, probably not a high order station and not much of a loss, just a bad precedent.
I think the other one says EBA 1206 and I couldn’t find that in the NGS list (all states) as captured by the geocaching site.
