This will be interesting to watch. I have no idea who is right. I can believe either side at this moment.
Somehwere I thought it stated 160 acres was the limit of claim in a case of adverse posession.
I image it would be rather difficult to eject a person who is trying to ripen an adverse possession claim when that person is also the Sheriff. Also, it sounds like the people who were dispossessed of their land were people of color. In the 1930’s, I imagine they would have had a difficult time with having access to the justice system.
I saw that on the news last night and I’m curious to hear the the other side of the story.
I helped with a similar suit in the 80’s and it seemed to me that the story the original owner told the family and what really happened back then were two different things.
