Intellicad Carlson
Posted by victorstone on July 26, 2015 at 5:05 pmIs there a way select an object under another object within a command, software 2015 Carlson Software- Intellicad.
Ran into a need to do this while creating stakeout point for curb (COGO-offset points by interval), had a polylines and 3dpolyline on over each other, work around by creating a CL file for back of curb.

It’s called Object Cycling and in WellKnownCAD it’s one of these.
- OLD METHOD: Hold down the Ctrl key while picking.
- NEW METHOD: Hold down Shift+Spacebar while picking.
Good luck in IntelliCAD.

This works in BricsCAD as well.
Thank you, did not know it was called cycling, did a search in IntelliCAD help menu explained.
Click an entity to select it, then Ctrl + click to cycle through the entities below the cursor, selecting one at a time.
This works well.

Want to point out that in later versions of Autocad (at least in 2013, not sure if that’s when it first appeared) that you can actually toggle selection cycling on or off so that one need not continually invoke the Shift+Spacebar picks. It also is a little more sophisticated, bringing up a box that lists your options for selection rather than just highlighting the selection on the screen. Ctrl+W toggles this on or off, and it can also be found along with your other status toggles at the bottom left (default location) of your screen.
@blitzkriegbob Thank you for posting this. I’ve been searching for two weeks now for this stupid attribute. Thumbs up to RPLS today!
I’ll have to try those. I usually just use View/Display order/Send to back, until I can click on the right one. Works only for lines and polylines on different layers
Glad that helped! I’ve been getting settled in to a new (old) job and have been away from the board for a couple of months. It’s always nice to know that I get something right every now and then.
BTW, I don’t know if I was wrong previously, or if the location of the Selection Cycling button has moved, but it’s not at the bottom left, it’s like 25% in from the bottom right side. If you don’t see the button (it looks similar to the Draw Order button), you can click the 3 horizontal lines at the bottom right to bring up a long list of buttons that can be shown along the bottom of your screen. Selection Cycling is right in the middle. This is not a toggle, it just gives you a button that you can use to toggle On or Off quickly. Ctrl+W still works too!
