The Rhode Island Society of Professional Land Surveyors is the state’s association for licensed surveyors, mapping professionals, and related fields. Its stated purpose is to promote surveying and land information systems while helping ensure this work protects public safety and welfare.
RISPLS held its 54th Annual Meeting and Conference in October 2024, placing the organization’s origins in the early 1970s. It is affiliated with the National Society of Professional Surveyors and appoints a state director to that organization. Membership categories include voting, affiliate, associate, student, and retired levels.
