Massachusetts Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors

We establish and enforce the standards for engineers and land surveyors. Our job is to ensure the quality of our licensees. Our priority is the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

The Board currently licenses in the following disciplines: aeronautical, agricultural, architectural, chemical, civil, control systems, electrical, environmental, fire protection, heating & ventilation, industrial, land surveyor, mechanical, metallurgical, mining and mineral, naval architecture, nuclear, petroleum, safety, sanitary, structural.

The Board and its subcommittees evaluate and act on license applications. Board members are members of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. This council prepares national testing for the regulated professions, develops uniform standards for registration among the states, and acts as a clearinghouse for law enforcement activities of its member boards.
