Florida Surveying and Mapping Society

The Florida Surveying and Mapping Society is the statewide professional organization representing licensed surveyors and mappers throughout Florida. Founded in 1955 as the Florida Society of Professional Land Surveyors, it later broadened its name to reflect the profession’s growth into mapping and geospatial work.

FSMS operates one of the larger local chapter networks among state surveying societies, with roughly 16 to 19 chapters holding their own meetings across the state. The society publishes The Florida Surveyor as its member magazine, supports student chapters at Florida universities, and hosts an annual conference along with other member events.
