Ring Ring X 2
Quote from Jon Payne on September 18, 2024, 3:51 pmA couple of days ago, I had a voicemail from a lady who left her name, number, and a brief description of what she wanted done. I thought her name and the project sounded familiar. Before returning her call, I looked back through a log of returned calls I keep. Sure enough, about six months ago she had called with the same request.
I returned her call as I was not sure if she wanted to proceed or if she was doing a new inquiry searching for a better price or time frame. I reminded her that we spoke six months ago and that the price would still be the same, but the time would now be a little further out as I have a couple of larger projects scheduled. She said she would discuss it with her husband. Is that code for oops, I called the same person and I still want to get this done for a lower price?
About a month and a half ago, I had a similar call with a much more extended time between the initial call and the call back - about a year and a half. That caller had spoken to a mutual acquaintance (he relayed that she had a price from a surveyor a while back, but she thought it was too much). I spoke with her again and reminded her that we had discussed this a while back and pointed out the new pricing (higher than a year and a half ago) and new time frame. She just didn't understand why it was so expensive when she knew where her corners were and just needed me to mark a point on her sideline. I've not yet figured out why she even wants a surveyor when she already knows where her corners are and told me exactly where she wanted the online point to be.

The ones who want to insult you quickly learn that some of us still remember how to disconnect a phone call.
