Page 1 of 2Next

Not sure but maybe contracting for pipeline surveying might get me more response. I have my own vehicle, willing to travel, 2 to 4 man crew. Just looking to get started. Not sure what i would be charging but i know our crew can kick ass on any prelim, Topo, construction staking, valve site layout or any other pipeline work for surveying. Just need the go ahead and details worked out. let's do it !!

You have a truck and crew, what about equipment? or were you planning on using your current employers?

No equipment...have to use the companies equipment that i contract for.

That is a slippery slope, contractor vs employee.

Just trying to figure out which way is easier getting the work. After people seeing my resume, i have had a few offers but it will take me having to re-locate and i have a family, kids, and a new home here at the coast and not willing to re-locate. Just trying to figure the best route until something long term or solid comes along. Alot of companies have offered but they are not exactly sure on the start-up on their projects. I can't wait around for that.

Are you cad literate? Are you bent on only doing pipeline work?

Go here and search "numerical control technician"

I have used Carlson Autocad and TGO Office....cant say that i am a drafter, i know the functions and how to create or get the information i need by using CAD and spent a few months drafting Form Surveys and Title Surveys but i am not a a professional drafter.
I want to work pipeline because its fast paced, the money is good and the focus on most pipeline jobs is very highly driven towards team work. Every morning i set a goal for my Crew and our main focus is that goal everyday unlike other jobs where you sit in the same place everyday looking at the same stuff everyday. We are striving to get better everyday and my crew and myself get to challenge ourselves everyday with new results. Thats pretty much why am sticking with it.

I know thats something i can learn over time and with a little bit of help and it sounds really interesting. Not sure what kind of learning curve they would have but i have a resume if you need to see if i come close to the qualifications. Its also close to home.

Thats not my call, Im in a different district, but I do know that the company as a whole is always looking for good people. The links on that page will get your info to the right people and get the process started. I thought you might like that Ingleside address:-)
