PPM is looking for a full-time laser scanning National As-Built Surveyor to join our Special Operations team! This position is Los Angeles / Orange County based (with heavy National Travel).

"As-Built” refers to a drawing that shows the existing dimensions and conditions of a building, space, or area.
I don't think "as-built" correlates with existing. "As-built" dictates a timeline; existing doesn't.
I suggest they do some research on the legal ramifications of using the term "as built." Words have meaning, especially in law.
The wage being offered should not attract anyone who actually knows what they are doing.
that's interesting. Not something I've seen discussed, in terms of the language used. What experiences have you had that relate to the "as built" terminology?
@andy-j Our insurance carrier from sojme years back gave the example of an "as built" where it turned out the sewer pipe was cracked. The surveyor didn't mention the cracked sewer line when he certified that was how the project was built, so he was liable. The carrier strongly suggested "record drawings" rather than "as built."
Bruce does bring up a good point. Some localities ask for 'as-build' plans. We comply but with a certification that limits what was 'as-built' to only those as shown boxed herein.
