Michigan State Specific

Michigan seems to be one of the places where we are light on active participants. That is part of the problem. There may be some who don't live there but are licensed there, but that may go 10 to 30 years ago so the information might not be current. Bringing back to the surface may get you some helpful feedback.
I lived in Michigan many years ago but did not work at surveying. I got to know the Executive Director of the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers at the time, Harry Ball. He made more jokes about his name than anyone else could come up with.
All State Exams are nearly the same. Just download all the information the Board provides in their syllabus and check the state society's website as they typically have some info on the exam. Once you do that, brush up on the basics.
I don't know if it's on the test, but Michigan is unusual in having an oblique Mercator Georef system in addition to more common SPC zones.

@ric-moore not in a literal sense, but every state exam will test you on the same information; state laws, statues, regulations, case law, etc. Of course each state has differences but the outlines and format are typically the same.
Stare exams differ wildly. Some only requires regurgitation of statutes, some are in depth explorations of state boundary law, some focus on the BLM manual with a few supplementary local additions, some require you to create a subdivision or boundary plat, some focus on ethics, some don't cover ethics, some are based almost completely on complex boundary situations, some don't test boundary resolution skills at all, some require a lot of math, some require none, some are take home exams, some are computer exams that can be scheduled year round, some are paper exams that can only be taken once or twice a year...

I am likewise getting ready to take the MI State specific exam. Did you end up taking the MI exam? Where did you find your study materials? The Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors doesn't seem to offer much. The testing company (PSI) lists some resources, and I have downloaded all the laws pertaining to surveying. Looking for a review course, review book, etc.

I am planning on punishing myself this year and write the Michigan State specific test. I got my surveying degree in Michigan and we vacation there during the summer.
The PSI handout has a lot of source information. Has anyone written it lately?
