ENTRIES CLOSED!

Now that we know who the Final Four are, you can post your guesses for who you think will be the final two teams, the Championship team and the score gap in the final game. You have until the end of April 1, 2011 PST to make your selections.

The Final Four are:
Butler Bulldogs vs. VCU Rams
UConn Huskies vs. Kentucky

Please format your picks like this:
Florida Gators
Kansas Jayhawks
99

In the example above, you would be choosing Florida and Kansas as the final two teams; the bold formatting on Kansas indicates that you expect them to win the whole enchilada. The number indicates the score gap you expect between the two teams in the final game.

The contest will go like this:

  • Those who select the two teams who move on to the Finals, will move to the next round. In the event nobody picks the correct two teams, everyone moves forward.
  • Those who select the tournament's final winning team will move to the next round. If nobody selects the correct winner, everyone moves forward.
  • Everyone who has made it to this point, assuming there is more than one, will now compare score gap selections. The closest to the actual score gap, wins. If there is a tie, a random draw will be performed.

The winner will get one of our famous "goodie packs" loaded with stuff, blatantly branded with our logo(s) and URL(s), along with some other personalized goodies.

This is a very interesting turn of events re the Final Four. Each team remaining in this tournament has had a very hard row to hoe. It was not an easy path for any of them, they all faced day-to-day prospects of "loser-out, smell-ya-later, buh-bye". All of the #1 and #2 seeds were toppled in the process. I defy anybody to say that they honestly picked Butler and VCU to play each other in order to take a championship whack at UConn or Kentucky, who both came out of their respective league tournaments as also-rans. The so-called "mid-majors" have achieved ascendency to the pinnacle of NCAA basketball. So, regardless of perceived status/recruiting budget/head coach salary and subsequent violations of NCAA policy, we will now witness an "every-mans" Final Four. I love this game.

Wish this were such for NCAA football and the BCS.

Actually I think UConn will win but I'm going with the little train that could. They have beaten a #1,#2 and #4 seed to get to this point. Go Butler!
