Leica_Wild T3000 Repair

I have a Leica T3000 electronic theodolite and would like to undertake some maintenance.
If anyone has a T3000 service manual, I would be interested in purchasing or borrowing it.

Maybe you can look here http://www.autolevel.com/ for a guy called "SAM" or "SRB". I think he is selling Survey instruments Manuals.
I contacted him once, but the repair manual i was looking for was to expensive for me.
I donå«t know if he is reliable or scam. Maybe you would try and share your experience with him...

He's got everything.

As a follow up to my request for T3000 service manual, I obtained the manual from the Wild Heerbrugg site run by Jurg Dedual. I had no success with "Sam" on the "AutoLevel.com" site. I left a message but have never received a reply.

Hi Paul,

I hope your T3000 servicing goes smoothly. The service manual has lots of detail. One of the things you may need to do fairly soon, if not immediately, is to replace the lithium cell that keeps the internal memory alive. The procedure is not too onerous, and DIgikey has the necessary cell from Tadiran in stock (or at least they did about a year ago), but I'd be happy to help with more detail if necessary.

In an emergency you can get by without replacing the cell---see this thread:

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the info. DigiKey appears to be out of the TL 5186 and I could not find it sold anywhere else. The TL 4986 appears to be the exact replacement (physical size, voltage, etc.). I tried out the TL 2450 which has the correct pin spacing and is the correct voltage (3.6 v) but it is 2 mm larger in diameter and will not fit as it hits the fuse near the battery. I am having trouble finding a TL 4986 here in Canada but it appears that a 1/2 AA 3.6 volt lithium (with solder leads) will fit if stood on its end.
