Senior Land Surveyor title will get you ~$100k or slightly more at the top end, in addition to benefits and Tier 6 pension. And, you're home on time.
I have received numerous canvass letters for NYS DOT within the past year, a couple for OGS, and one for NYS Parks. It seems that opportunities are out there if you want them. I'm on the eligible list until 2025 I believe.
I love ❤️ NY. I hate the taxes and the fact that it’s run by that SHole in the southeast corner of the state. Living like rats doesn’t bring out the best in people.

NYS used to make you test for these jobs, I took the exam in 08 or 09 and scored 4th... it took 10 years for them to call me for a job interview, buy then I move out of state. I guess times have changed.
