Import 3D Polylines in SurvCE
Quote from cf-67 on December 15, 2013, 1:35 amI'm looking into doing the above - I found instructions from Carlson where you create a .dxf file and import it into your datacollector.

But there is also an option in SurvCE to import a .dwg file and that seems to work too, but the article doesn't mention that as an alternative
Both are allowing me to pick a 3D polyline to stake out. (at least sitting in my motel room they are)
How do you guys do it?

Quote from Peter Kozub on December 16, 2013, 12:10 amtypically I have found that a Dxf seems to import the best to Carlson DC
so to date I generate a R12 DXF from C3D 2013 to Carlson
and spare yourself the DWG complexity unless you really need allll
the C3D 2013 details.So to summaries I make from C3D 2013 a Basic R12.Dxf to send to the
DC to stake outPeter K

Thanks - that's what I found today when I tried both ways.

Quote from NelFur on September 28, 2024, 3:40 pmI have imported a dxf into my job. I see all the line work when I hit the map icon. Whenever I exit out of Survce and then open back up when I’m in that job the dxf is no longer on the map screen. I have to reimport the dxf. Is there a way to import it one time and it be attached to that map as long as I need it?
