Forum Updates for 2020-12-10: Topic Starters & Other Nerdy Stuff
Quote from Wendell on December 11, 2020, 5:30 amIt's that time again when I bore you to death with nerdy updates! Even better, this update is even nerdier than usual. ????ÿ

Topic Starter
This is a pretty cool update. Now when you visit a topic, you'll see a Topic Starter icon next to the OP's username, like below:

But what makes this handy, is when you see other posts from the topic starter later in that thread.

Rich Editor for Signature Field
You now have access to the rich editor when building your forum signature. Note, however, that this doesn't mean that free advertising is allowed, which includes logos, company names, links, etc. We are able to stay online mostly because of our paid advertisers, so it's important that we protect those who do support us through advertising.

PHP 8 Compatibility
This is one of those particularly nerdy updates. PHP 8 has been released and now everyone is scrambling to make sure their stuff is compatible. The forum is no exception and is now fully PHP 8 compatible. Interestingly, our server isn't yet equipped for PHP 8, but I still feel like it's too cutting edge to make the jump just yet anyway. But it does promise massive performance gains, so I'm anxious to make the upgrade when it is stable and safe to do so.

Bug Fixes
As usual, a bunch of bugs were fixed. Like, maybe 20 or so. ?????ÿ
