QGIS can now read and extract the metes and bounds from survey plats automatically, creating a polygon with an LLM.
Typing S 21° 14' W 50x times into a coordinate geometry (CoGo) table before hitting save is so... 2023. GIS deserves better.
This will be available in our QGIS plugin sometime in the next 2 days!

Metes and Bounds?
I think they are only offering a Metes program.
Imagine the slog of converting something like that into a usable description. I can't say when the first program I got that converted linework into bearings and distances, but I do know it's was more than twenty years ago. The one hard fast rule is that the linework has to be completed and perfect.
Don't need to say anymore as far as GIS is concerned.
And no matter what program that used they are only a start on the description.
