Data Collector for Leica TCRP 1201+ R1000
Quote from Steve Corley on July 5, 2010, 8:16 pmWe recently purchased a Leica TCRP 1201+ R100 total station. We are now ready to move up from the onboard data collector to an external data collector and all the bits and peices to make it a robot. The Leica Viva CS15 seems to be tops on the list followed by the Allegro with Carlson software. Has anyone used a similar instrument with these data collectors? We will be downloading the data into Bently InRoads Survey and producing drawings in Microstation.🙂

Quote from Matthew Loessin on July 5, 2010, 8:20 pmWe are using the CS 15 with both the VIVA GPS and the same robot and they work seamlessly together.
If you are using the onboard data collection right now, you will have no problems switching over.
Use the all Leica product, after 10 years of using third party data collection systems, all our headaches and problems went away with the CS15.

Quote from Georges on July 5, 2010, 11:25 pmSame here,
Works quite well with the Allegro/RCS/SurvCE.
In a few years, I may follow Matthew's route, the new Leica data collectors are pretty good. Just remember that for a 1200 (with out the +), it will only run in some kind of mode or protocol, I forgot the exact word. So, I am note sure it's 100% great with the (now) older 1200 series. That's why I may end up sticking with SurvCE, the bugs are ironed out.
