McCOMBER, BILLY KINYON

-Billy Kinyon McComber, of Lakewood, passed away in his sleep on the eve of May 10, 2004 with his wife at his side. His wife, Bonna Kay, and their children Brandon and BreAnne survive him. Other survivors include Robert, Bill's son from a previous marriage, and all of his siblings, his eldest sister Lois, older brother Donald, twin sister Betty, and youngest brother Raymond Lee.
-Bill was born in Rushville, NE on September 18, 1944. Bill served a tour in Vietnam with the United States Army before settling in Colorado, Bill, past President of the Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado (PLSC) had a long and distinguished career as a land surveyor. He taught the PLSC Refresher Course for many years, helping hundreds of surveyors prepare to take their State Board licensing tests. He authored many articles, usually in an historical vein and always humorous, in PLSC"s quarterly magazine Sideshots. As well as donating all the surveying for the building of the Veterans Memorial in downtown Denver.
-A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, May 15, at 10:00 a.m. (viewing at (9:00 a.m.) at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 1500 W. 20th Ave., Lakewood. Interment will be Monday, May 17th at 12:30 p.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery (Gather at Staging area "C" by 12:15 p.m.). Donations in lieu of flowers will go towards Bill's favorite charities.
