Do not recognize 77 names, including those listed more than once.?ÿ Many of the others are cases of recognizing the name but not knowing which genre or able to name one of their songs.
Obviously, not a fanatic over music, even though I enjoy singing.Have never owned a collecton of records, 8-track, cassettes, etc.?ÿ Waste of good money.
I would add Brad Depp -- IMHO the best voice in rock! He also set some records for the time, at least in his genre, that I think might still stand. If you listen closely to the classic Boston songs from albums 1 and 2, pay close attention to the high notes. Just when you think he's reached a point capable of breaking glass, he goes another level up, which blows you away, and then he goes up yet another level. I don't think most people are paying enough attention to truly hear it. But it's easy to get sucked into the overall songs without noticing some of the great details.
Did I miss Conway Twitty?
If you're gonna consider Mick a "great singer" then John Prine needs to be on the list. 😉
Rolling Stones is nothing but a woke roll of toilet paper and that list shows it. In order to avoid the no politics rule, I won't comment any further.
#132 - Loretta Lynn
#133 - Neil Young
#134 - Axl Rose
This little section must be a misprint
@paden-cash?ÿ ?ÿ Rolling Stone only had Prine as the 94st Greatest Song Writer. Real America does not exist in Rolling Stones' world.
Yepper, I agree with you and I was going to refer to them as a 'Ragazine". That being said, I for one would add Hoyt Axton.?ÿ

Here here!?ÿ Man, I could crash Wendell's server with Uncle Hoyt stories.
No relation, but I'm an almost life-long friend of Hoyt's nephew that also lives here in Norman.?ÿ Shawn was Mark Deal's partner when Mark passed.?ÿ He has continued to operate Mark Deal & Associates to this day.?ÿ I quit trying to get him to change the name a decade ago.?ÿ He did tell me when he answers the phone and someone asks for Mark he knows it's a sales call.... 😉
One of my favorite Uncle Hoyt stories:
Hoyt's career (and finances) was an up and down kind of thing.?ÿ During one of the "down" times he sold all the rights to his song "Greenback Dollar" for $800.?ÿ Sometimes the thought of all the lost income from the sale didn't sit good with Hoyt.?ÿ But in true fashion he always admitted that was the right song to "let go" just because of the lyrics.
"nuther'n :
There's a tape of Hoyt performing on a slow night in LA, sharing the stage with Gordon Lightfoot.?ÿ This may have been at the "Troubadour" if I remember correctly.
Anyway, Hoyt had a propensity to imbibe as a lubricant for his live appearances.?ÿ Lightfoot was apparently 'above' such behavior and tried several times to get the performance "back on track".?ÿ Lightfoot's anger only amused Hoyt.?ÿ Hoyt's mirth only fueled Lightfoot's anger that remained "professionally repressed" during the show.?ÿ
Hoyt always said the only way to tolerate a drunk was to either leave...or get drunk also.?ÿ

I'd add Judith Durham of "The Seekers"
I must have missed Diana Ross, Sting, and Steven Tyler.?ÿ
Dionne Warwick should be at the top of the list.
I didn??t recognize 59 of the names. ?ÿI suspect I??ve heard of some of there music but don??t know it.
I didn??t see anything from the Eagles or Fleetwood Mac unless I missed it.
Eh, not a great list.?ÿ Chris Cornell is at #80 and Jeff Buckley at #131. well behind some decent performers, but not better voices.?ÿ
No Melissa Etheridge, Jewell, Carole king, Phil Lynott, when other inferior singers made the list.?ÿ Oh, well
