Well as I sit here and the kids are watching the Muppets Show Miss Piggy makes the same mistake that we all have seen as we survey and someone ask for their picture to be taken.
Best workhorse ever made.
Early 80's, my first introduction to electrics, with the exception of optical transit top mounted distomats.
Started out with a guppy and the GTS 2B with the keypad for coordinate check in and horizontal distance reductions where mind blowing back then.
I don’t know. The wild t1000 was one tough digital transit with top mount edm. Light weight and never died.
I used a T2 back then with no top mounted EDM. The only top mounted EDM we had was set up for top mounting to K & E 30" optical transits.
Well now you are dating your self LOL. To this day I still loved the whole interface of the wild digital transits. Even the first total stations were nice. To horizontal tangent knobs and a vertical knob made it very user friendly for Topo and mapping. Also so easy to buck or wiggle in on a line . But I reckon those days are over. Everything is data collector worked. I asked this question once not long ago from a support guy. I said I can take a total station and no data collector and set up turn angles and comp offsets on a line quicker than you can get set up and create a job in the data collector. He couldn’t believe that. I said if I am staking a straight line I don’t even have to turn the total station on. He couldn’t understand how I would know I am level. If it is not an electric level they have no clue . I miss some of the old ways at times .
