My wife??s 2014 Ford Flex has the stupid thermostatic climate control, stupid thing blows cold air if it thinks it??s warm enough in the car. The other thing I don??t like is if I plug phone into the usb port to charge it automatically assumes I want to play music so I have to stop it from accessing my phone.
My 2005 F150 has a knob you turn to how much warm air you want, simple, that probably costs extra now like crank windows.
My 2018 Dodge RAM 2500 work truck (I didn??t buy it thank gawd) still has the key in the ignition but the newer ones have the fob only a really dumb idea in my opinion. Someone got back to the hotel without realizing he didn??t have the fob. Had to take another truck back way out in the sticks to look for the fob in failing light. Luckily he found it.
Those mid 1960s pickups I see for 25k or so are looking pretty good now.
My Ram 1500 has the fob/key combo and I'm a big fan of it.?ÿ I'd much rather keep track of 1 thing than 2.?ÿ In fact, if your employee or whoever had the same thing he wouldn't have been able to drive off without the fob so...

he drove 20 miles to the hotel without the fob thing in the vehicle. He had it on the dash and it fell out of the open window while driving down the two track road. In order to find it he had to walk the road and found it about 200?? from the parking area.

Ford has a program called Forscan. ?ÿI think it??s free and you just need a hookup to your phone to the OBD port. ?ÿYou can change or disable certain settings, such as the auto start stop.
And last but not least, it automatically locks the doors and tailgate when I put it in drive but doesn't automatically unlock them when I put it on park.
You can program that feature off.?ÿ My wife likes to have it on in this day and age for safety reasons.?ÿ I hate it when using the truck for work.

What about when you are about to open the door and your coworker kneels down and THUNK doors locked.
Really??ÿ My coworker has an F150 that does the same thing and he told me he has repeatedly looked for a way to shut that off but no way seems to exist.
I do not have all the annoying bells and whistles of the modern car. Still work out of a 1990 Chevy Suburban 3500 "Old Whitee", but it haves it own faults. Rust is taking over the driver side rear fender, when I unlock the driver side door with the key, I have to beat on the the door just below the handle 3 times for the door to unlock. Call it the combination lock. I can leave the doors wide open when moving or doing anything else. Lately the heater is not working well. Got a newer model 1999 bought from the Forest Department but just have not switched over to it yet. "Old Whitee" has 300,000 miles but the 350 motor just won't die. The biggest annoyance is when I fill up with gas. Get about 30 light poles to the gallon.

Wife??s car only blows cold air, need to figure out why. The older style rear seat air works fine but the front seat is an icebox.
Next car, I want the knob you turn for however much heat you want, simple.
need to figure out why
Did you pay your monthy subscription fee?
This "tech" is coming to a new vehicle near you:
https://www.chevrolet.com/connectivity-and-technology/in-vehicle-technology
Which includes keyfob features (lock, unlock, remote start, etc.).
~$100k for a POS "new" vehicle, and now auto makers want to hit you with the subscription model for life to boot.
Thanks Netflix and Tesla.
P.S. Good luck ever getting a "knob" on the dashboard again...
I'm guessing a big portion of the subscription is for the data plan.

On our 2006 F150 the auto door lock is programed by a combination of ignition switch and lock activations.?ÿ I have to look it up each time I do it.?ÿ I just did a quick online search and Ford has a video that describes he procedure with a new vehicle at How do automatic door locks work? (ford.com)
Wife??s car only blows cold air, need to figure out why.
Every time I've had that happen with my vehicle it was a matter of low coolant.

@bstrand?ÿ
That's where I would start. The next step; find out why it's low...
