This morning as I had my cup of coffee in hand and walking around outside enjoying the brisk air and a good cup of hot coffee as had stopped under a oak and was just enjoying the morning and such. As I stood there all of a sudden a splash it my coffee. Yep the old squirrel was cracking acorns and bam right into my cup. Thank goodness it was about time for a refill.
This reminded me of other times that nature seemed to be has bit of fun. I was in a battalion inspection all decked out in uniform standing at attention along side my fellow brothers and sisters in formation. As the commander was approaching me for my turn to be inspected as he snapped in front of me asking me knowledge questions as he went top to bottom and left to right on my uniform measuring my ribbons and rank insignia a darn pigeon let loose on him and splat right on his shoulder. I kept my bearings but man it was difficult and he was struggling as well. I can’t imagine how that colonel felt as he finished up going through the ranks with a big pile of pigeon poop was on his uniform but he did.
Another time I was deployed and conducting a survey I had met up with one of my crews as they had some issues with equipment and I was out trouble shooting it and bringing a back up set to replace if we could not solve the problem. Well as I stood there and turned to walk back to the humvee an ultimate survey vehicle LOL a darn bird folded up like a dove on opening morning of dove season and cam crashing down only a few feet from me as I stood there. We saw several of these during the heat wave while being deployed. It was that hot birds would just die mid flight.
I can’t count the times sitting in a deer stand to be joined by a squirrel only a few feet or less to accompany me and barking at me as I sat still and quiet.
