I'm not sure how much of an upset this really was, as Texas as been sporadic at best this year and TCU has always had a decent defense.
It's been interesting this year in the Big 12. Okie State is much better than predicted , at least late in the season, and WVU, which started hot has struggled and now are on a five week skid. They have Iowa St and Kansas left, so at 5-5 then they will surely get bowl eligible. That would make 8 of the 10 teams bowl ready.
Baylor needs one more win but with Texas Tech and Oklahoma State then that is a harder path to follow.
K-State was a pleasant surprise this year and will still get a great bowl game. I hated to see them lose but that is college football. They were just out coached in that game.
Outside of the Big 12 then I'm happy to see Texas A&M doing much better than anyone predicted. And what a win against Bama to start the BCS on the spin cycle.
The Pick'em looks to be one of the harder ones so far this year. So many rival games and some with, on paper, even matchups.
Baylor-Texas Tech (which team, of either, will show up?)
OU-Okie State (at Norman, but both teams are hot right now)
ND-USC (could ND be ready for a slip up? I'm going with ND)
South Carolina-Clemson (looks like a close game)
Standford-UCLA (Standford sounds like they should win)
Florida-Florida State (lots of drama with the pull out of a bowl so this game is it)
Wisconsin-Penn State (I favor Wisconsin but I could see a Penn State win).
The BCS again appears to be a mess embroiled with controversy. Sigh...Let's hope things get sorted out better before the computers tally the final score.
GO POKES!
I agree with you on the pick 'em the week end. Not too many slam dunks- ONLY Georgia over Georgia Tech. even the ND Vs USC is uncertain to me...seems like every time I pick someone over USC - USC comes thru - when I pick USC....:-(
Then the challenge is to place the "either way" games in the right point slot to avoid a 9 or 8 point head shot.
10 pointer is Georgia over Georgia Tech
1 pointer is Penn State over Wisc.
