Proper way to address someone

I was gonna ask if "Hey, you" was acceptable.  I never have learned a trick that helped me remember names.

I am a man, not a mouse, so when I encounter someone who is not standard issue in certain areas having to do with gender and sexual orientation, it doesn't bother me in the least little bit and I don't consider it an imposition upon me because they don't expect me to be one of them if I am not. I don't consider it having to deal with "crap," I consider it part of being a decent human being.
