For fun, check out anything you can find on these early adventurers with cameras into some of the most remote places on Earth. Fascinating how foolishly brave they were. What a couple?

Nitpicks: They said "past 12 generations" but summed 11. You are the 12th.

Also when going back that far, the average time per generation was probably shorter than their calculation.

I always thought that too. But as I researched my genealogy I was surprised to see that my ancestors ranged in age from their mid twenties to the mid forties, with the occasional fifty something year old. This is going back into the 1600's.

I think that the age people started having children may have been younger but with the larger families the last child can be 20 years younger than the first.

It all depends where your ancestor falls in the birth order. A lot of mine seem to be younger kids in the family.😀

I was a third grade student when the Safari Museum opened in Chanute. I will never forgot one of the photos on display. It was of an ancient native woman somewhere in Africa, I believe. The accompanying caption said this was taken an hour or two before she was to be buried alive so she would no longer be a drain on the community.

I made a number of school field trips to that museum. Was interesting then but way more so these days when I can appreciate it more.
