In centuries past the term wench was used in literature to refer to a young girl or woman.?ÿ That evolved into frequently adding a trade or occupation ahead of wench, such as, a serving wench.?ÿ Unfortunately, in some circles, the term was used to refer to a prostitute.?ÿ Be very careful with using the term today as you may not know the recipient's knowledge of what the term means.
