I apologize in advance for wasting space with a topic of such limited interest but I already tried to find a member map with no success. I just have a question or two that only a surveyor familiar with how things work in Chatham County can easily answer. A private message or email response would be fine. Thanks!
It would be beneficial for you to contact a surveying company that practices in your area of concern.
Some great surveyors that provide services in that area. I know a few great surveyors that could either help or point you in the right direction. PM me if you would like me to point you to a few. The other is contact SAMSOG they can give you a list of Licensed Surveyors that provide services in that area. It has been many years since I was in GA so SAMSOG is probably your best resource.
Thanks but I am a surveyor in Tennessee. My son lives in the Savannah area and there is a problem with his deed. They will need to hire a surveyor at some point but I was hoping to get some information about researching deeds and subdivision plats online in that county.
In my state (NJ) the availability of online deeds is hit or miss, depending on what county you are working in. I do not know of any county that has any filed subdivisions online, and as far as being a survey filing state, we are not one of those states. Anything that we can get online only dates back to the mid to late 80's, the rest, you have to do the courthouse work.
Thanks. In Tennessee, the method to search deeds online varies from county to county, but they are available. Memphis has had deeds and plats dating back to the late 1800's available online for free for at least 20 years. Most counties don't have them for free, but they are available either by subscription or pay-per-document. I'm still hoping that Savannah (Chatham County) Georgia has something like that.
