Well, the covid 19 lottery at least. My boss had the sniffles and got tested. Positive. So everybody got tested. 6 positive. Nobody had any symptoms other than sniffles and a little cough.?ÿ I've worked thru a lot worse!! Then on the 8th day of Quarantine i started with fever. 5 days so far and i am SO over this!!
I was hit with an unrelenting fever and body aches early last month. Tested positive and was out two weeks. It's been a slow recovery. Two more in the office tested positive this week. Kind of harsh for a five person staff working a rotating schedule...
A co-worker's mother works in a small office.?ÿ One turned up positive so the others had to quarantine.?ÿ It was Day 11 of quarantine when she noticed she could no longer smell anything.?ÿ Then came the headache and cough.?ÿ Turned out to be minor in her case and she is almost 60.
On the other hand I know of two young people (early 30's) who have gone through Hell twice with this.?ÿ Both were active and healthy until this hit them each time.?ÿ They can barely breathe.?ÿ The idea of doing any exertion is gone for now.?ÿ Weak as kittens.?ÿ No connection between these two other than they were in school together years ago.?ÿ Buddy of mine is a welder.?ÿ He's going to blow himself up.?ÿ His bout with the virus left him in need of frequent hits of oxygen.?ÿ He has been taking hits under his welding mask then immediately going back to welding.?ÿ One of these days he's going to resemble Daffy Duck after swallowing a stick of dynamite.
?ÿHe's going to blow himself up.?ÿ ...?ÿ dynamite.
That's a bit of exaggeration, but oxygen+sparks+clothing could definitely result in serious burns.
Years ago a coworker's dad was welding in an overall snow suit that turned out to be more flammable than average. No extra oxygen involved. He spent serious time in the hospital.
Tested positive in july, zero symptoms.
Fever weekend before Thanksgiving. Tested again positive again. Mild symptoms.
One more time makes me a unicorn if I survive.
Only connection is the building I go into is the only place ive caught it.
They still have yet to be closed or surveillance tested as the state dept of health requires.
Im taking my workstation home so I don't catch it again and will be field surveying on a special schedule to avoid the lying not quarantining schmucks that keep infection running rampant.
Unfortunately we will all be getting this eventually. Math and biology are cruel but real circumstances of the universe.
Stay safe and stay away from schmucks.
Was never tested, but I'm buying the dates on the linked article.?ÿ
Between last Christmas and New Years I had the worst upper respiratory illness of my life.?ÿ Fever peaked at 105 and for two weeks afterwards I was walking around with a bottle of Robitussin in a brown paper bag taking slugs out of it like I was a wino.?ÿ?ÿ
Plus I was at events the week before Christmas at locations in DC that could have had a large number of international travelers come through them (The National Press Club and The Army Navy Club)?ÿ

Grape or Cherry?
And 105 is dangerous. I saw 104.7 in 2003 when Sars 1 was running around. Good times.
Stay safe and be well.
1. I'm not a "go to the doctor" kind of guy; but I was about to head to the emergently room before the fever broke
2. Grape...it's how my homies and I roll
Had a friend mine in high school welding shop who thought he would impersonate a member of KISS and blow fire out of his mouth. So he stuck a torch in his mouth and turned the acetylene gas on, took a deep breath and flicked the striker as he blew out. It sounded like a large pillow hitting the floor, the acetylene never got out of his lungs. His eyes rolled up and he hit ground. Amazingly he came to and seemed ok with no real side affects, other than being himself. He has lived a life(9) that would make cats envious.?ÿ
An associate's wife gets tested near every day so she can get in to see and help her mother who is in a nursing home.
All of a sudden she tested positive and can't get in to help her mother.
She went to another place to get tested and the result was that in one nose she tested positive and in the other nose tested negative.
So many of these tests are giving the wrong results.

When I was tested they went up each nostril with three different swabs.?ÿ As I understood it, two were for the regular test and one was for a quick test.?ÿ All I know is that I checked out fine?
Some say the swab stings but I thought of it more as a tickle.?ÿ The side with the deviated septum was distinctly more noticeable for the tickle sensation.
