I procrastinated and waited until the last hour!
I finally get there and my boss is all excited to see me.
"Angel!! Been a while! How are you? What's new?
By the way, I have a little something for you. ?§ "
She hands me a little gift bag filled with goodies, and, a little box.
In the box contained my five years of service pin award for my NODA work!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!
Needless to say I was a bit surprised!! ???¯
Usually we have a banquet with a fancy dinner and celebration, but with COVID, it was impossible. Good.
I didn't have to get up in front of hundreds of people and make a speech. ???
So, my boss did the next best thing and made a little speech with my award, telling me how much I am appreciated and loved around there. "Angel, you do such good things; your work with the dying is always getting positive feedback from both Staff and patients families. We're really proud of you! Oh, and please come back to the E/R. They miss you!"
And she smiles again!
It's a good thing I brushed my teeth! (Kidding! I always brush my choppers before I go anywhere.)
Aren't ya guys proud of me? ????
My award! ?§?
