I'm headed that way Monday to help out with hurricane relief stuff/humanitarian Aid.
Originally, this was a planned mini-vacation with my friend who's active Military. But, she said it has changed to humanitarian relief, and to bring my comfy sneakers, comfy clothes, and 2 cases of full size candy bars to pass out as treats.
We'll go get the rest of the supplies on Base at the Commissary (Or wherever she says we go on base to pick it all up at!) We rented a Jeep with a towing rope to help wherever we can.
I've never done this before; she has, though, many times in her 50+ years of Military service. I will follow her lead.
I just hope I can make a difference in at least one persons life while there.

In the aftermath of Cat 5+ Irma / Maria in 2017, the greatest comfort was family, friends (including here on Beerleg), and strangers who showed that they cared. The despair and suffering can be overwhelming. Angel, you are exactly what southwest Florida needs now.?ÿ
@andy-j How's the transition treated you??ÿ The equipment is working great.?ÿ Did have to get a new prism recently, the glass popped off the bottom section.?ÿ Had to glue it back in place to finish the day.?ÿ Thankfully most of the work was accomplished reflectorless.

We used to have a slew of good German restaurants in this area, but they are slowly fading away.

@andy-j That's good that they've been rescued. Don't understand why they stayed.?ÿ Anything over a cat 1 around here and you would not see me stick around for it.?ÿ If a Cat 3/4 hit here in this area, 80% of Virginia Beach would be under water.
