As a tribute to Swift's late grandmother and opera singer Marjorie Finlay, the song depicts Finlay's advices to her granddaughter and Swift's guilt over not knowing her maternal grandmother to the fullest.
Marjorie Moehlenkamp Finlay was an American opera singer and television personality. A coloratura soprano, she performed concert, opera, and supper club singing. After winning a talent contest in 1950, Finlay toured on the ABC radio network show Music With the Girls.

Oh, come on, guys.?ÿ Only two guesses so far.
I was thinking of Bertha as in: A character introduced in the song, Bertha Butt ("one of the Butt Sisters"), was featured in many later Castor Bunch songs, including "The Bertha Butt Boogie" (1975)
