FL/GA, you folks in Florida ain't the only ones with gators.?ÿ This was taken about 30 years ago of my father feeding his "pet" gator Allie.?ÿ He got the gator right after he was hatched and kept him until he got to about 8 feet long.?ÿ As long as he was in the pond we had no snakes and few turtles.

@andy-bruner

Nice pic.

Did y'all make anything out of him? Boots, evening shawl, belt etc. Y'all have more rattlesnakes than us, which you can keep. I can live with gators. Lake Jessup is a few miles from me and if you spec fish close to shore when you catch one you have to snatch it out of the water before an alligator gets 'em.

@flga-2-2 No.  When he got to about 8 feet long my mother told my father to get rid of him (her?) after she saw him catch a rabbit in the pond.  My father called the Department of Natural Resources to relocate him.  They came out and said they would trap him.  My father said, "You don't need to trap him", and called him up for them to get.  They relocated him to a farm further south in Georgia where the farmer's pond was overrun with snakes, problem solved.

Yeah we have some pretty decent sized Eastern Diamondbacks.  A surveyor from Cordele Georgia had a skin tacked to a 4X8 sheet of plywood that covered nearly the entire sheet.
