A 63 year-old fellow who lived in a hotel-converted-to-apartments a bit over a block from the scene of the crime is being held for blowing up a dumpster in the parking lot of a judicial center.?ÿ They have video from a surveillance camera showing him riding up in his motorized wheelchair at 4:55 a.m., lighting something, putting it in the dumpster, then exiting as fast as the wheelchair would go just before the dumpster was blown to smithereens,?ÿ including the two-inch pipe cap that went through the back door of a radio station building nearly two blocks distant.?ÿ White guy, with long white beard, in his 60's.?ÿ Glad to report I have an eyewitness for my whereabouts at the time.?ÿ No motive for the blast has been reported.

Here's how it was really done.
Back in the mid 1970's, my cousin lived in an apartment in a small city. My family was visiting, and my cousin complained to my dad about a dumpster in a vacant lot across the street that was overflowing with garbage, and the local rat population was out of control. They had complained to the city offices multiple times with no result. My dad suggested to her husband that a small dumpster fire would solve the problem, as the fire department would make sure it wouldn't happen again. Sure enough, after the fire with no clear motive, the area was cleaned up, and a lock placed on the dumpster.
