This photo was taken in 1890 of Robert McGee 26 years after being scalped while serving in the US Cavalry.?ÿ He was one of the group escorting a wagon train near Fort Larned, Kansas when set upon by 150 Sioux.?ÿ He was shot, pinned to the ground by two arrows that had completely penetrated his body and nearly unconscious when he was scalped, beaten and stabbed with multiple times.
