I wonder how many state societies would advertise? It would be a neat way to disseminate minutes from meetings, etc.
Hello! It appears this SurveyConnect site is still up and running and inquiring about the move to rpls.com. On rpls.com, are we required to resubmit/sign up with username and password or automatically done from here when it is in operation? Please advise, thank you!
Will you be transferring everyone's profile and log-on from SC to the new RPLS.com blog, or does everyone start at ground zero?
Yes. There may be a few miscellaneous parts of your profile that don't make it (like location, bio, etc.) but it will be really easy to update that. I plan to start making some tutorial screencasts to help ease the transition. I think you'll find that it's generally easier to use though.

There are several things I want to accomplish after the dust settles. One of my top priorities is to allow state/province/national/international associations to have their own groups with their own forums. They would be able to add all of their members to the site, with exclusive access to their own associations' groups. One cool thing is that one RPLS.com member could be members of multiple associations and have the appropriate accesses here in addition to their normal RPLS.com accesses.
Our groups are going to be very powerful, with their own document management systems, photo galleries, built-in Zoom meetings/webinars, and the owners/organizers of the groups (the associations themselves) will be able to manage their own members. Now every association could have their very own forums and such for a very affordable fee.

Thank you for the question! 🙂
We will be moving all current members of SC to the new RPLS.com website prior to the official launch. However, much of the profile information will not be going along for the ride. We are going to attempt to bring over your passwords as well, but we'll see how that goes. We may have to force a password reset on everyone for the sake of security.
It is taking a LOT longer to migrate everything than we had ever expected. The forums conversion is the biggest task of all. If we hadn't already poured so much time into converting every forum post to the new system, I probably would have already abandoned it. But I keep feeling like we are almost there, so we keep plugging along because it's getting close. The alternate (as suggested here) would have been to create an archive of old posts that could be referenced in the new forums. I'm not exactly sure how that would have worked though, since we'd be combining the two softwares and I'm trying to rid myself of the old software because it can't keep up anymore.
Anyhoo, hang in there! Sorry it has taken so long but it will be worth it. Just keep in mind that all the features might not be present on day one -- I want to get us moved over and then work on the upgrades after that. 🙂
Thank you for the update, no hurry! Looking forward to the completion of the transition and the tutorial screencasts for our use.
Truly appreciate the update. No worries, mate.
Just had a conference call with the developer who is helping with migration. We're super close to being ready! To give us time to migrate everything, we've made the decision to put both websites into maintenance mode on Thursday afternoon (August 31, 2023) and start the migration.
We know already that we need about 36 hours for the actual transfer of data from surveyorconnect.com to rpls.com (long story, but I'm happy to explain in more detail if you want to geek out on it). Then we'll need time to troubleshoot and clean up some loose ends, hence why it will run through the weekend.
In preparation for the launch of rpls.com, I would recommend that you review anything you have here that you might want to save, such as private messages. All of your current private messages here at SC will not be saved nor migrated to the new site. The only things we are transferring from here are the forum posts and your basic user account information.
It may be necessary for us to force a password reset for everyone. However, we are going to do our best to avoid this. To help with your transition to rpls.com, and if you don't remember your password, I would highly recommend that you reset it to something you can remember, or even write it down temporarily. That way, you'll be able to easily login to the new site on Monday. Once logged in, you can destroy the paper you wrote your password on.
If you have any questions or concerns, now is the time to ask. 🙂
I'm so excited!!!!1!!! I hope you are too!

Do we have to eat it?
You can, if you are into that kind of thing.

We ask that you please fasten your seatbelts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off.

I love this soooooo much!

If you don't mind, I'm stealing this for the coming soon pages. 😉
