I already knew we were pushing this system as far as we could push it, hence the upcoming move to a totally new system that is specifically built for growth. But today, it seems that the private messaging system is rebelling against change, and it has completely walked out. It crashed and took everything with it this morning. I've managed to get everything except the PM system back up and running.
In my mind, this confirms that moving (again) is the right thing to do. In my attempts thus far to get the PM system activated again, I've seen that it just can't seem to load itself up. It's quite possible that it just went far beyond its capacity and gave up. The error logs seem to indicate that it's just too much. I would equate it to an engine that runs just fine once started, but if you shut it off, you aren't sure what it will take to get it running again. That said, I'm going to continue trying, but I'm not sure if I can at this point. We'll see.
This really sucks because it takes me away from preparing for rpls.com -- and we're really close to being ready. Ugh!!
