Anyone have a copy of the software they don't use anymore? Put it to good use, helping a fledgling student of surveying.:-)
Must be properly licensed. Carlson Converter would be a big plus. Will consider any reasonable offer.

I would suspect a student license is available with proof of enrollment.

If I remember correctly, you are using Carlson's SurvCE on your data collector. You can pick up a new license of Carlson's SurvNet for around $535.

Here is a link from That Cad Girl: Carlson SurvNet

I would think that this would work pretty smoothly with your data collection software, and there are training videos online to help you get up to speed.

Thanks very much for the link. I inquired about that some time ago, (although not to Michael Bachinski, the contact in the link), and the requirement is that you are enrolled in an institution. I'm not (other than my enrollment here, at Beerleg University):-).

I'll send Michael an email and see if he'd accept recommendations from some of the greatest "professors" in the business that teach at this fine university. Perhaps if he realizes that I'm serious, he might make an exception.

Thanks Jimmy. I've never looked at Carlson SurvNet, and have really only gotten my feet wet with Starnet, and am getting along with it pretty well so far. I'm reluctant to jump ship and try something else, but I should probably at least take a look. There seems to be pretty good support for it here.

I like it. It does a pretty good job of working with the data, and is pretty flexible. Dean Goodman with Carlson has helped me on more than one occasion. I will be attending another SurvNet Seminar next month at the Kentucky Conference with Dean Goodman and Bruce Carlson being the speakers. I sat through one a couple of years ago, being new to the SurvNet software. I will hopefully get a little more out of it this time being more familiar with it this go around.

The training videos they have online are very helpful in my opinion.

I use and like SurvNet but I don't think that it is quite as flexible and Star*Net, something Carlson should work on. You can get the entire Carlson Survey program with DTM and SurvNET for about the same cost as a seat of Star*Net also there is no conversion problem if you use SurvCE.

Check out the webinars on Carlson they have several that cover SurvNet.

Update:
Microsurvey shot down my request for an educational license. I guess Beerleg University is not yet accredited (it should be). I'm going to take a look at Survnet, but in the event anyone still wants to turn their Starnet software into some cash, I probably could go as high as $250, depending on the version.
Thanks.
