Antique K&E ArchitectÛªs Level with non-adjustable wood tripod. $350.00 + shipping.
Basically a small ÛÏWyeÛ level with a horizontal circle used for shorter distances on construction sites or inside buildings.
Patent dates are late 1800. I have a COPY of the user instructions, copyright 1922.
The instrument is in the original wood box, good working condition with good optics and very fine cross-hairs.
Beautiful specimen. Hard to tell from the photo, but the legs may be hickory. I have one old tripod with hickory legs. came with a Buff & Buff.
Whoever had it took care of it. Looks like it was probably stored indoors and kept away from humidity and varying temps. The hairs look like they're still spider webs. Not a bad price, but I've got a shelf full of them at the office.
Somebody needs to snatch that up. I don't think any of mine are in that good of a shape.
That is a nice level, the trivet is a nice accessory.
I have recently done business with Grant. He a gentleman, trustworthy and will go out of his way to do right by you.
