Andy, I was thinking the same thing,

But I soon digressed to;
"Well, I stand up next to a mountain,
And I chop it down with the edge of my hand,
Heh heh,
Well, I stand up next to a mountain,
Chop it down with the edge of my hand,
Well, I pick up all the pieces and make an island,
Might even even raise up some sand.

Hmmm....You are a surveyor at heart then; I can recognize the signs right away. I hope you don't go finding an original 150-year-old land corner stone one of these days, or I'm afraid you'll leave the monastery and start surveying for a living.

Aloha, Tom:
That's very funny! Surveyor at heart, monk at soul. Always a monk who does surveying...not surveyor who is a monk!;-)

Hey yswami,
I was only joking....but do be careful of the many temptations that could arise, and if finding a pipe monument was exciting, casting your eyes on an original stone, ought not be taken lightly 😉

Not sure I can help with the Wisdom. Can definitely help with the knowledge.

Just last week a fellow PLS friend of mine said something very appropriate for this thread.

"I can fix ignorant but I can't fix stupid."

The fact you acknowledge areas where you need help understanding tells me you are well on the way to improving. Sadly we run across too many people we can not help because they believe they already know. I have said for years that it is not the things in life we do not know that will cause us the most trouble. It is the things we think we know that turn out to not be true.

Ask any question no matter how small and I am sure someone will be able to help.

Hi, Tom:
Joking aside...there is truth to what you are saying. When you are a monk, one must be always on guard for various temptations. Many monastic orders have the issue of monks living the order. We've seen our share of it too. That's why wisdom is required in everything we do...wisdom=timely application of knowledge.

Thanks!
