I am taking the West Virginia State Specific Exam in the fall, I have purchased the books that are recommended by the WVSPS.?ÿ Can anyone recommend any other materials that I should study to prepare for the exam?
If you've got a copy of "West Virginia Land Surveyors Laws and Regulations," as well as "Compass Land Surveying," you should be in good shape.
?ÿ
Hit those books, and the current regs and state statutes published by the state, hard and you'll be in excellent shape.
?ÿ
I still feel the WV exam was one of the best written exams I've ever sat for.
?ÿ
Good luck!

I probably took the test with you a year ago.?ÿ I didn't have the reference materials, did not study much except WV code and did not pass.
Since purchased "West Virginia Land Surveyors Laws and Regulations" now known as the purple book, formerly the orange book, it was a big help, I passed in Oct 2021.?ÿ Many of the questions deal with case law; the purple book is excellent, $175 from the WV PS society.
Henry Sipe's Compass Land Surveying is another excellent resource.?ÿ?ÿ

How did you do on the exam?
I’m in the process of applying to sit for the exam now and trying to figure out the information to concentrate on to prepare for the exam. I am currently licensed in DE and MD.
Thanks for any advice.
Rob,
If you want to borrow a copy of Henry Sipe’s Compass Land Surveying let me know and I'll bring it to the MSS PAC Fundraiser next week
I did in fact pass the exam, a miracle I think. Tree identification from a described stump and such. There is a 2014 DVD of a past review course available by Don Teter, a long time WV surveyor. PM me I can give you the details if you like, I have an extra copy.
