For some reason, I have never been able to view Youtube videos without reloading the videos 2,3 or 9 times. This is on every computer I own.
I consider myself to be fairly tech-savy, I built a PC computer from parts once.
I have downloaded every video codec known to man.
My RAM is solid and I got a bunch.
Got good, fast video cards.
Videos from other sites such as woodwhisperer.com and liveleak.com work fine.
What always happens, and again this is across platforms, is that the red progress line of the video gets about 1/2" long and that's it.
Anyone else seen this and fixed it?
TIA
JB

Youtube uses flash. I assume you have the latest version of adobe flash player installed, if not, get it. Since this is happening on all your computers, I would suspect it is in fact your internet connection (assuming your computers are all using the same connection). Am I right so far?

Correct on both counts.
I think my connection in ok because we have netflix and internet games on the PS3 that don't have any issues.
I can also play flash videos from other sites as I mentioned.
If a video has the youtube watermark on it, even if it's linked from another site, I'm done.
Thanks

I've done some searching around.
I wonder if you can see things on hulu.com or xfinity.com/tv
I suspect you have a default set which youtube does not like.
Many streaming sites are now using Silverlight.

If you press play on a video on youtube, and then immediately pause it, will the entire video eventually buffer to 100%, or will the buffer eventually stop? Who is your internet service provider?

Hulu works fine
xfinity works fine

The videos on youtube stop loading at approximately the same spot on the progress bar. If I pause it, it just sits there with the round "loading" symbol spinning around. If I refresh a few times I can usually get them to load, but this is hit-or-miss.
ISP is Time Warner Roadrunner cable.

Timer Warner Road Runner, that sticks out to me now. If you visit a site like dslreports.com and search for your problem, you will find this is a very very common complaint from people who are using Road Runner, which includes Time Warner and Bright House customers. It doesn't matter how fast their internet connections are, even people with 50 Mbps plans have this problem. It has something to do with the YouTube servers they are routing the Road Runner network traffic to. Some people claim by using different DNS servers, that you will get directed to different YouTube servers without these problems. I don't know if it is really true or not, but I can tell you how to switch to an off network DNS server if you'd like to try. What type of home router are you using?

Ok, I changed my dns to use the opendns servers. This seems to have helped. The vidoe still pauses, but it is much better. I'll try some more off-system dns and see if I can't get it even better.
Thanks all.

The last week or so I have had problems with some video downloads.

An update to QuickTime was done when I installed Verizon media downloader for the wife's new phone.

It started taking over my computer and I uninstalled the downloader and found another way to install media to her phone.

I wonder if I need to uninstall QuickTime. As an Apple product, it has never played well on any MS computer I have ever had.

Doing a search for it on my computer revealed that it had connected it to most everything running on my computer, even GNSS Solutions, like how does that needs a media player to run.

Any suggestions?

I'll tell you something I discovered:
All of our cell phones (4) use our wifi to make calls over the internet when they are in reach of the home network. I was having some ip address issues and took everything off automatic ip address assignments and cleared up a bunch or trouble.
