Please take a look at this article. Some republican from NY is trying to float a bill that would make all of our long range UHF RTK radios useless (ie., like the ones you might be using if you own a Pacific Crest/Trimble transmitter):

PLEASE INFORM YOUR MEMBERS THAT THE TOPIC OF “THREAT TO GPS” WILL BE DISCUSSED WITH GUEST JOE PAIVA ON THE ACSM RADIO HOUR MONDAY MARCH 14 AT 11:00 AM EASTERN!!!

The excerpt below from a recent announcement provides some explanation of the issue.

WASHINGTON, D.C. March 11, 2001 – A representative of a founding member of the Coalition to Save Our GPS told a House subcommittee today that a recent action by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) could cause “consequences of disruption” to the Global Positioning Systems (GPS) that will be “far reaching, likely to affect large portions of the population and the federal government.”

To listen to the radio show live, go to www.americaswebradio.com at 11 AM Eastern and click the “listen” icon on the home page. The show will be archived, and within a few days after its airing can be accessed from the bottom of the home page by selecting the archives icon, then selecting “Monday”. From that page, simply select “ACSM Radio Hour” and links to the various shows will be shown.

Thanks,

Curt

Dangerously close and stronger frequency's, close enough to cause interference, lab tested.
