I have had this ole girl a while and as of lately she has become a bit of a pain in the arse. She fires up tracks GPS+Glonass satellites, has a good bit of memory for her age, runs static like a champ, plugs in and connects to PC-CDU like always... IS PAID FOR $.
...BUT when I try to set her as my base she will turn off after like 5 minutes and go haywire (not useable). I have rest the old girl and tried everything I know, and she will not cooperate. I know that my cables and base radio are good because I have a Legacy-H that I can slip in her place, but the H doesn't speak Russian.
AnY ideas?
probably just needs a good cleaning.
soak it in a tub of water with just a little salt overnight and it should be good as new.
Should I have it plugged in when I soak it? 🙂
I have 2 of them. Update the firmware. Change the power wire.
Open it up, and look for loose connections.
